Selling into Australia from a UK company

A UK Ltd is the entity Australia's registers understand best after its own. The treaty covers income tax, the 2023 free trade agreement covers duty, and VAT experience translates almost directly to GST, with one large exception around who collects on imports.

What is different from here

Tax treatyYes. Business profits are taxable in Australia only through a permanent establishment.
Trade agreementA-UKFTA, in force since May 2023: most UK-origin goods enter duty-free.
Typical entityLtd. Companies House details satisfy the ABR's company identity requirements when certified.
Watch forUK VAT and Australian GST are separate systems. A UK VAT registration proves nothing to the ATO.
